Fighting the Seal Ban

Leaders from Arctic communities in Canada and their counterparts from Greenland are teaming up to lobby against European bans on seal products. Recently, Nunavut premier Paul Okalik (above) and two cabinet ministers visited Greenland, where they met Prime Minister Hans Enoksen. Last week, Mr. Okalik said leaders from Nunavut and Greenland plan to travel to Europe to fight activism against seal products.
