Livestock Imports Stopped

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency banned the import of certain livestock and livestock products from the UK on Saturday after a foot-and-mouth disease outbreak in the European country, the Canadian Press reported. The move came the same day British officials banned the export of all live animals with cloven hooves, including cows, sheep and pigs, as well as carcasses, meat and milk.
