Published: Wednesday, 10/03/2007 12:00 am EDT

Former British prime minister Tony Blair has chosen Calgary, Alberta, as the site of his first Canadian speech since stepping down in June, according to the Canadian Press. "Building Global Relations" is the topic of Mr. Blair's $400-a-plate luncheon speech, which is scheduled for Oct. 26 and is expected to draw an audience of 1,500 people. The Quartet of Middle East peacemakers (which includes the UN, EU, Russia and the U.S.) appointed Mr. Blair as an envoy for peace between Israel and the Palestinians just after his resignation.
