No Consular Help

A Montreal filmmaker who spent 11 months imprisoned in Iran says she was never visited by a Canadian consular official while she was behind bars, the CBC reports. Merhnoushe Solouki, a dual French-Iranian citizen with permanent residency in Canada, was arrested on Feb. 19, 2007 while filming in a cemetery. She was freed last month and has since returned to Montreal.
