Softwood Ruling

International Trade Minister David Emerson said in a statement he was pleased the London Court of International Arbitration had ruled in Canada's favour on the interpretation of the technical provision "adjustment factor" in the 2006 Canada-United States Softwood Lumber Agreement. However, Mr. Emerson said he was disappointed the tribunal did not agree that adjustments were to start as of July 1, 2007.
