Alexander to Stay On

Canadian Chris Alexander will continue to serve as UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon's special political adviser on Afghanistan despite the appointment of Norwegian diplomat Kai Eide as the world body's "super envoy" to the country, the Ottawa Citizen reported last week. "I continue on the job," said Mr. Alexander, who also served as Canada's first ambassador to Afghanistan from 2003-05.
