Bombardier Threatens Belgium

Montreal-based transportation company Bombardier Inc. warned the Belgian government last week that it would close its plant in the city of Bruges if it did not win a contract to build 1,200 railcars, the Globe and Mail reported. Company spokesman Guy Hendrix told the paper that 1,350 jobs were at risk if the $2.3-billion contract was awarded to German-owned Siemens AG.
