Another Day, Another Gaffe

Hot on the heels of Foreign Affairs minister Maxime Bernier's very public resignation last week, Prime Minister Stephen Harper found himself in hot water while in Europe. Following a meeting between Mr. Harper and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, an official within the Prime Minister's Office suggested Italy had decided to lift caveats restricting its 2,500 troops from engaging in combat in Afghanistan. In fact, no decision had yet been made as the Italian government was only considering such a move.
