Afghan Children Suffering

During a tour of Afghanistan last week, UN Special Representative for Children and Armed Conflict Radhika Coomaraswamy told a news conference in Kabul that the violence in Afghanistan is causing grave harm to the nation's children. "I can't think of any country in the world in which children suffer more than in Afghanistan," Ms. Coomaraswamy said. During the visit, Ms. Coomaraswamy met with vicitims of attacks, President Hamid Karzai and other government officials, representatives of ISAF, aid agencies and NGOs and military forces.
