Chinese Dump Debris

The Chinese Embassy attracted attention in Ottawa this week, but not the good kind. The Ottawa Citizen reported that construction workers at the embassy have been dumping old cinder blocks into the Rideau River behind the mission, and that a metres-wide pile of crumbling blocks and debris cover a retaining wall and slope into the river. In a letter to the newspaper, embassy officials said it is all part of a protective project on the ground to "fix damaged shoreline."
