Opposition critics stepped up their calls last week for an investigation into how former foreign affairs minister Maxime Bernier left classified NATO documents in the home of his ex-girlfriend. Liberal Foreign Affairs critic Bob Rae noted Foreign Affairs investigators, who released the results of their own probe on the week before, did not question Julie Couillard, while Canwest News Service quoted Liberal Public Safety critic Ujjal Dosanjh as saying he intended to call the public safety committee back from summer recess to summon Mr. Bernier and Ms. Couillard to testify. NDP Ethics Pat Martin critic supported Mr. Dosanjh's proposal.
