Former prime minister Jean Chrétien has blasted Prime Minister Stephen Harper for skipping the opening ceremonies of this year's summer Olympics, Canwest News Service reported this week. Mr. Chrétien, who said he travels to China once or twice per year, said he would have attended the ceremonies and accused Mr. Harper of undoing decades of effort to build goodwill between the two countries. "We're blackballed," Mr. Chrétien said. "We're at the bottom of the ladder with China. We've lost a lot of ground."
