Funding for Tamil Tigers

The World Tamil Movement, a Toronto-based non-profit organization, wired more than $3 million to accounts overseas, including some linked to the Tamil Tigers, before being shut down by the government in June for allegedly financing terrorist activities, the National Post quoted this week an RCMP report as saying.

The World Tamil Movement, a Toronto-based non-profit organization, wired more than $3 million to accounts overseas, including some linked to the Tamil Tigers, before being shut down by the government in June for allegedly financing terrorist activities, the National Post quoted this week an RCMP report as saying. The report in which the allegations were made was unsealed by order of a Federal Court judge and was the result of two years of work. Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day listed the organization as a terrorist group on June 16.
