More Foreign Competition

Industry Minister Jim Prentice is in favour of opening Canada up to more foreign investment in an effort to bolster competition and bring about greater savings for consumer, Bloomberg news service reported this week.

Industry Minister Jim Prentice is in favour of opening Canada up to more foreign investment in an effort to bolster competition and bring about greater savings for consumer, Bloomberg news service reported this week. Mr. Prentice, who was attending a conference in Atlanta, said "generally speaking" he agreed with the Competition Policy Review Panel's report that the government loosen restrictions on foreign ownership of airlines, phone and mining companies.
