Fuel Tankers, Transport Instead

The military is looking at buying two fuel tankers and a transport ship following the shelving of plans to purchase three new joint-support ships to refuel and resupply Canadian warships, the Ottawa Citizen reported last week.

The military is looking at buying two fuel tankers and a transport ship following the shelving of plans to purchase three new joint-support ships to refuel and resupply Canadian warships, the Ottawa Citizen reported last week. The joint-support ship project ran aground after bids came in higher than the $2.9-billion set aside for the project. The paper reported experts and industry officials saying the new ships could likely be acquired within the budget parameters.
