Detained in Dubai

The boyfriend of a Nova Scotian woman who has been detained by authorities in Dubai for two weeks now says he is "disgusted" at the lack of response from the Canadian consulate, the Chronicle Herald reported. Nicole Stroop-Gillis, 34, was detained by airport security during a 15-hour layover in Dubai for being drunk and disorderly. She was travelling from Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, where she works as a civilian supply technician, to South Africa.
