Drug Dealers Seek Day in Court

Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day is being taken to court for blocking the repatriation of two Canadian drug dealers serving sentences in the U.S., the Ottawa Citizen reported. Mr. Day rejected prison transfers for Winnie Lam and Steven Czinege, both from British Columbia, on the grounds they constitute a "threat to the security of Canada." Vancouver lawyer John Conroy said Mr. Day was in "contempt of Court" for refusing to transfer the two men from California prisons despite a recent ruling restricting Mr. Day's ability to block repatriation.
