Auto Sales Swing Up

Although the U.S. auto sector suffered its worst monthly decline since January 1991, sales in Canada actually gained in October, the Toronto Star reported. The economic crisis in the U.S. drove auto sales there down 32 per cent from the same period last year, and marked the 12th consecutive monthly decline. In contrast, Canadian auto sales were up 1.5 per cent making it the industry's best performance in October since 2002.
