Fréchette to Fight Nukes

Canadian Louise Fréchette, former deputy secretary-general of the United Nations, was appointed this week to the advisory board of the International Commission on Nuclear Non-proliferation and Disarmament (ICNND).

Canadian Louise Fréchette, former deputy secretary-general of the United Nations, was appointed this week to the advisory board of the International Commission on Nuclear Non-proliferation and Disarmament (ICNND). The commission was established by Australia and Japan to re-invigorate international efforts against the proliferation of nuclear weapons. The commission is trying to strengthen the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) by gathering a global consensus leading up to the 2010 NPT Review Conference.
