China Agrees to MOU

Canada and China have signed an agreement on financial information services that will reduce obstacles for foreign firms setting up in the Asian market. Trade Minister Stockwell Day said the agreement resolves "an important commercial problem in China by improving market access for foreign companies there and ensuring they are treated fairly." Under the Memorandum of Understanding Regarding Measures Affecting Foreign Suppliers of Financial Information Services, China will create an independent regulator.
