A Canadian spam operation has been ordered by a California court to pay $837 million (US) to social networking giant Facebook, the Globe and Mail reported. Montreal-based Atlantis Blue Capital, owned by Canadian Adam Guerbuez, was found to have tricked Facebook users into giving up their passwords and using the accounts to send millions of unsolicited messages advertising various drug and sex web sites. Mr. Guerbuez was found to be in violation of the U.S. Can-Spam Act.
