Three Canadian soldiers were killed in Afghanistan last Friday when their armoured vehicle struck a roadside bomb west of Kandahar City. Their deaths brings to 100 the number of Canadian soldiers killed since the conflict began in 2002. Two thousand soldiers gathered to pay tribute to their fallen comrades at Kandahar airfield. The deceased, Pte. Demetrios Diplaros, 25, Cpl. Mark McLaren, 23, and Warrant Officer Robert Wilson, 27, were brought back to Canada on Monday.
