Trade Minister Stockwell Day is in Panama this morning for the inaugural ministerial meeting of the Pathways to Prosperity in the Americas initiative. The group was founded under U.S. leadership on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in September, and aims to "move forward with a more ambitious hemispheric trade liberalization agenda." The group brings together some of the free trading nations of the hemisphere: the United States, Canada, Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Colombia, Panama and Peru.
