Mexico has surged ahead of Canada in auto production, pushing Canada down to the rank of third largest producer of autos in North America, the Globe and Mail reported. Back in October, vehicle production in Mexico hit 1.796 million for the first 10 months of the year, compared with 1.779 million in Ontario. Just 17,000 vehicles behind Mexican production, Canada sunk for the first time to third place in North American auto production. "While we were worrying about Michigan, Mexico has quietly cleaned the clocks of both Ontario and Michigan," said industry analyst Dennis DesRosiers.
