Peter Kent set off on his first official visit to Central America as minister of state for the Americas Monday. On his four-day trip, Mr. Kent will visit Nicaragua, Guatemala and El Salvador and plans to meet with national leaders and various ministers. "This trip will reinforce our commitment to playing a larger role in the Americas," said Mr. Kent in a statement. "Central America is a key region where the issues of security, prosperity and democratic governance are crucial. I intend to discuss these and other important issues during this visit."
