Four years after Auditor General Sheila Fraser identified major security problems in Passport Canada's ability to do criminal background checks on applicants, the agency is still working to fix the problem, the Canadian Press reported. In April 2005, Ms. Fraser's office found Passport Canada lacked access to up-to-date information, was using outdated technology and poor record-checking.
