Officials from the port of Halifax have signed a sister port agreement with their counterparts in Chennai, India, the Hindu reported. The agreement covers a number of areas, including trade promotion and sharing technical and container expertise. About one-third of Asian container cargo at the Halifax port comes from India, and India is one of the main targets of the Atlantic Gateway Initiative, centred on Halifax.
