Lithuania Reactor Push

During a trip to Vilnius this week, International Trade Minister Stockwell Day offered the government's support to Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd.'s bid to sell CANDU reactors to Lithuania, Reuters reported.

During a trip to Vilnius this week, International Trade Minister Stockwell Day offered the government's support to Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd.'s bid to sell CANDU reactors to Lithuania, Reuters reported. The Baltic country is set to shut down its Soviet-era reactor at the end of the year, and is looking for a replacement. Competition is expected to come from France and the U.S. Mr. Day was scheduled to visit Romania this week to push a similar deal for two CANDU reactors there.
