The Conservative government has decided to appeal a court decision ordering it to repatriate Omar Khadr , the lone Canadian citizen still jailed at the U.S.-run Guantanamo Bay prison, Canwest News reported. The government is refusing to comment beyond a statement released Friday by the Department of Foreign Affairs which referred to the serious charges Mr. Khadr faces and said the decision was taken "after careful consideration of the legal merits of the ruling." A ruling by Justice James O'Reilly of the Federal Court on April 23 chastised the government's failure to help Khadr.
