The Canadian government has launched a public relations campaign across Europe to brand Canada as an "Arctic power" and owner of one-third of the land and resources in the North, the Globe and Mail reported. So far, the campaign has included using public ad space across Europe to promote images of Inuits in the North, opening a Canadian International Centre for the Arctic Region in Oslo, voting against the EU sitting on the Arctic Council, and instructing embassies abroad to use their cultural resources to sell Canada as a fully Arctic country.
