Ministers snub climate meet

Canada is the only country in the world not to send a Cabinet minister or an ambassador to the World Climate Conference-3 in Geneva, Green Party Leader Elizabeth May said this week.

Canada is the only country in the world not to send a Cabinet minister or an ambassador to the World Climate Conference-3 in Geneva, Green Party Leader Elizabeth May said this week. The conference, organized by the World Meteorological Organization, brings together 1,500 government officials, private sector representatives and aid organizations from 150 countries. The goal is to develop strategies to deal with the socio-economic effects of climate change. Canada's will be represented by an assistant deputy minister of the Meteorological Service of Canada.
