Canada's embassy in Kazakhstan has joined a great migration of missions, moving from the ancient city of Almaty to the country's shining new capital of Astana. International Trade Minister Stockwell Day announced the completion of the move last week during a callback about his trip to Ukraine, Kazakhstan and India. While in Kazakhstan, Mr. Day met with Prime Minister Karim Masimov, as well as the country's ministers of industry and trade, energy and mineral resources, and transport. "They're wanting to and have great potential to engage Canadian companies like Bombardier in their infrastructure needs, and SNC Lavalin and other companies like that," Mr. Day said.
