Canadian general sent home

A Canadian general is back in Canada less than halfway through his tour with NATO's International Security Assistance Force, Canwest News reported. Sources said Brig.-Gen. Gerry Champagne had a "strong personality conflict" with the new British commander for the region, Maj.-Gen. Nick Carter. A spokesman for the Canadian Expeditionary Force Command confirmed the move, adding Canada and NATO want "to find the best fit, in terms of the different command structure under the British."
