Canada warns Karzai

Canadian officials have reacted with concern to reports Afghan President Hamid Karzai has seized control of a body overseeing electoral fraud in the country, Sun Media reported. As Afghanistan looks forward to parliamentary elections in September 2010, Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon issued a statement saying: "It is important President Karzai lives up to his commitments on good governance, accountability and on fighting corruption."
