Young Irish heading to Canada

A growing number of young Irish people are heading to Canada in desperate search of work, the Toronto Star reported. Hostel operators in Toronto say as many as half of their residents in the last year and a half have arrived searching for a new life, while Statistics Canada reports the number of Irish visitors having almost doubled from 2004 to 2008. Ireland has been hardly hit by the global financial recession and is seeing a high jobless rate.
