Embassy in Bangkok closes

The Canadian Embassy in Thailand's capital has closed temporarily following violent clashes between protesters and the Thai army, reported Sun Media. The embassy is now only handling emergency consular business. The decision to close the embassy follows the Foreign Affairs department's decision to advise Canadians not to travel to the region. At least one Canadian, a journalist, has been shot in the violence.
