New Iran sanctions

The federal government announced new sanctions against Iran on Tuesday, the Toronto Star reported. The move, which came a day after the US Congress enacted its own sanctions, is meant to prevent Iran from gaining access to materials that could help it develop and nuclear weapons program. Iran has called the sanctions illegal, and claimed its nuclear program is for energy production only.
