Khadr’s lawyer collapses in court

Omar Khadr’s military lawyer collapsed in a courtroom in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, last week at the end of first day of the Canadian detainee’s war crimes trial, the Toronto Star reported. US Army Lt.-Col. Jon Jackson’s doctors suspect the collapse may have been related to gall bladder surgery the lawyer had six weeks earlier. Mr. Khadr is being tried for several war crimes, including for allegedly throwing a grenade that killed an American soldier when the Toronto-born detainee was 15 years old. The trial has since been postponed a month.
