Cops bust gun-smuggling ring

An international smuggling ring that brought guns into Canada was shut down by a joint Canada-US police unit, the Canadian Press reported. The ring ran between Lethbridge, Alta., and Billings, Montana. The team recovered 14 guns and assorted other weapons and arrested two people in Billings and one in Lethbridge. The police said smugglers would drive to a remote area just south of the Canadian border, drop off an individual carrying weapons who would walk across the border, and then get picked up on the other side.
