Oda visits Kenya, South Sudan

International Co-operation Minister Bev Oda is in Africa this week visiting drought-stricken Kenya and newly formed South Sudan, the Toronto Sun reported. Ms. Oda is scheduled to tour refugee camps housing thousands of Africans displaced by drought and the resulting starvation in the Horn of Africa. She will continue on to South Sudan afterwards. A spokesperson for Ms. Oda would not comment on whether Canada will boost its aid to the region.
