Tunisians cast ballots in Canada

About 10,000 Tunisians living in Canada voted last weekend in Tunisia's first democratic election since its former regime fell last winter, reported the CBC. Many Tunisians living in Canada did not think they would get the chance to vote after the federal government said in September that it would not allow Tunisia to include Canada in an electoral district. A solution was worked out last week. Votes cast in Canada will join the ballots of Tunisians voting in 23 other regions globally.
