Canada to face Kyoto Protocol pressure

Environment Minister Peter Kent said that Canada will encounter international pressure at upcoming climate change negotiations because of unwillingness to approve the Kyoto Protocol's second commitment period, CBC News reported. Speaking at the Economic Club of Canada in Toronto on Nov. 8, Mr. Kent said that Canada will only support climate change agreements that are signed and ratified by all major emitters, which includes major developing countries that have not ratified the agreement.
