UK 'secret support' for Canada

Canada has been receiving "secret support" from the UK government in its lobbying efforts against the European Union's proposed fuel quality directive, the Guardian reported. Obtained documents revealed that since September, at least 15 high-level meetings have taken place along with frequent communications.

Canada has been receiving "secret support" from the UK government in its lobbying efforts against the European Union's proposed fuel quality directive, the Guardian reported. Obtained documents revealed that since September, at least 15 high-level meetings have taken place along with frequent communications. The report said that British Prime Minister David Cameron told his Canadian counterpart that the UK wanted "to work with Canada on finding a way forward."
