Canada gets into TPP talks

Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced on June 19 that Canada has received the invitation to join Trans-Pacific Partnership talks, Postmedia News reported. Canada has been lobbying for a spot at the table in the trade agreement, and finally received the go-ahead at the G20 summit in Los Cabos, Mexico. The host country also announced it had been invited to partake in the talks. According to Mr. Harper's office, the TPP negotiations will now include a market of 658 million people and a GDP of $20.5 trillion.
