Campbell the top spender

Former British Columbia premier Gordon Campbell, now high commissioner to the United Kingdom, has spent more on hospitality than any other Canadian head of mission this year, CBC News reported. Mr. Campbell's expenditures are around three times more than any other ambassador for the first five months of 2012, with a total of $67,026 spent on meals and cocktail hours that he has hosted. Foreign Affairs defended the tab, saying Mr. Campbell is stationed at one of the biggest and most important missions abroad.
