Canada-US Olympics eyed

A Toronto city councillor is suggesting that the city consider asking the US to split the honour of hosting the 2024 Olympic Games with Canada, in what would be the first-ever joint bid on the games, the Toronto Sun reported. James Pasternak, who represents York Centre, suggested that sharing the role with an American city could ease potential financial problems—although this is discouraged in the Olympic charter. Mr. Pasternak suggested a Great Lakes Olympics with Canadian and American cities, or a partnership between Toronto and Buffalo, Chicago, or Detroit.
