Retired army general Andrew Leslie, the author of a report that called for a major structural rethink to the Department of National Defence, is a possible successor to chief of defence staff Gen. Walt Natynczyk and has interviewed for Mr. Natynczyk's position, Postmedia News reported. Mr. Leslie went to Kabul in 2003 and was deputy commander of the International Security Assistance Force. He was also commander of a regiment in Manitoba.
