SNC-Lavalin picks US head

The mammoth Canadian engineering firm SNC-Lavalin chose Robert Card, a former US energy undersecretary, to take over as CEO, in a choice that could ruffle Quebec's feathers, the Canadian Press reported. While the company he will now run is proudly based in Quebec, Mr. Card doesn't speak French—although he says he plans to learn. The former CEO, Pierre Duhaime, was mired in controversy after payments to North Africa and left his position in March.
